Setup Your Voicemail
Getting Set Up on Menlo’s Shoretel Phone and Voicemail System
The first time you access your new voicemail, you will complete a setup tutorial. During this tutorial, you will create a new password, record your name and a greeting. Before you begin, you may want to rehearse your greeting. See sample script below.
Set up your voicemail:
Lift your handset (or press the speaker button).
Press the Voice Mail button.
Enter your default voicemail password 23456.
Follow the prompts to change your password (at least 4 digits) and repeat the process to confirm your password.
Follow the prompts to record your name and press #. You will be prompted to press # again to accept your recording.
Before you exit the system, you will be offered other voicemail options. If you accidentally hung up, press the Voice Mail button, enter your new password and then:
You can return to Mailbox Options at any time to record a vacation announcement or special call handling instructions.
Sample Script:
“This is (name) of (title of department) at Menlo School. I’m currently away from my desk and unable to take your call. Please leave your name, phone number and brief message and I will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you.”
This completes your voicemail set up. The next time you log in, press the Voice Mail button, enter your new password and press #.

Directory:
The phones have a great built-in phonebook. Press the Directory key and press the buttons that correspond to the first few letters of the person's first or last name. Use the up and down arrows on the Scroll button next to the display to select a person, then press the button on the display marked Dial.
Security:
To reach campus security from any phone, dial 1122. For emergencies, dial 9 to get an outside line, and then dial 911 or 9911.
